Beautiful Family
I am so impressed with this beautiful family! Twin 1 year old girls, a 3 1/2 year old boy and a teenager - and they all looked at the camera at the same time? How is that possible? I can't get my 3 kids to cooperate for 1 photo, let alone several (as I got from this family). I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed!

I got accepted!
Today I got accepted into the ILP "JSOBiz" section ~ meaning, my photography portfolio was evaluated and it was decided that my work is good enough to go into business for myself.
WOO HOO! I am very excited about getting accepted. I thought FOR SURE I would be denied, at least initially. I fully expected to get a rejection letter and then have to work for a few more months and reapply. I was shocked to get in on the first round!
Congratulations to me!

Mother/Daughters Shoot
My First Senior Shoot
Today I had a session with my very first Senior, Tyler. He was awesome. Such a good, down-to-earth kid. I have always been afraid of teenages, but after meeting Tyler, I suddenly felt at ease thinking about my kids growing into teenages. He is such a good guy. He is going into the Airforce after he graduates. Good luck Tyler!

Photo blogging
I am going to try to be MUCH better at photo blogging. Things have been so hectic these days. If I'm not working at my day job, I am taking care of my 3 babes. And if I'm not doing either of those things, I am either at a photo shoot or processing photos. I certainly keep myself busy these days.
Photography is going very well for me. I am portfolio building, which basically means I am do photo shoots for friends without charging a sitting/retainer/location fee. I am shooting, practicing, processing, shooting, practicing, processing. It consumes every spare moment I have. Every weekend I have at least 1 photo session booked and the week evenings (after the kids go to bed) are dedicated to processing those photos. It's a very busy job, but I truly love it. I read somewhere once that if you TRULY love what you do, you will be successful. Everything will come into place. Well I truly love everything about photography. I love researching new ideas, poses, and locations. I love shooting the baby, child, teen, or family - capturing every little moment (especially those unforeseen moments that are even better than posed shots). And I love going home after a shoot and processing photos on my computer for hours on end - trying to get the best possible image for my clients. It is a very rewarding experience for me personally. To see the expression on a mother's face when she sees the images of her baby for the first time is priceless.
Hopefully one day I will be more than just a part time photographer. Until then, I will keep practicing and practicing some more. ;)
