Day 37

I went to the park today to take some photos with my Wide Angle Lens. It's Animal and/or Night week, so I did manage to capture a few ducks.

Day 36

Butterflies count as Animals, right?

Thursday, June 7, 2007, was Photography Night at the Krohn Conservatory's Butterfly Exhibit. I met a handful of people from the Camera Club I joined there. I never imagined how difficult it would be to photograph butterflies. I guess I assumed there would be more butterflies, and I guess I thought they would land on flowers so perfectly (with wings open). Boy was I wrong. I got a few nice captures, though.

Day 34 - Night Animals

Does this count as Night and Animals? LOL. Ok, he's an insect, but it still counts in my book. ;)

I wish I would have had time to place my SB-800 speedlight on its stand and put it to the side of this butterfly/moth. That way, the harsh shadows would have been eliminated. It was 11 pm at night. Oh well.

Day 33 - Night/Animals Week

Tonight, I attempted "night" photography for the first time. I put my camera on a tripod in front of the house with a SS of 30 seconds. I then ran from one side of the house to the other and popped my SB-800 speedlight.

For this shot, I programmed my SB-800 and placed it under my porch steps. I had my D80 on Manual, popped the flash and captured the exposure.
